We live in an age of rapid transitions and, like all such moments of time, there is great confusion, — a confusion of understanding, a confusion of cultures and values, a confusion of the line of action one may choose. The fixed paradigms of thought and ideas and the institutions and structures that support them are approaching a crossroads where either they must expand and enlarge their scop e to include a new mass of material that is flowing into the fields of human experience, or else, be ready to get relegated to the relics of the past.
Naturally the old world and the old paradigms resist. They hold on even more ferociously to the past and cling to it vehemently rejecting even without examining whatever new possibilities that the spirit of Time may bring. Medicine, polity, law, society, administration and education, everywhere we see the same resistance and consequent confusion.
But not for long!
The New is rushing on us from all directions. It is emerging from all sides. Humanity is experimenting new modes of living since something has changed within it even without our efforts. This inner change is precipitating outside, giving rise to new beliefs and new systems and new rational structures. The same data out of which the old theories were built is being seen afresh and understood anew in a New Light.
The rapidity of the change may make us dizzy but we must flow with it. It is entirely a new way of perceiving and understanding, indeed a new way of living and being. We cannot understand or see it with the old lenses. We need to put on a new set of glasses to feel and understand it. Or else the stride of time will outstrip us and the advancing soul of man move ahead leaving behind all that cannot bear the change.
It is a moment of ‘Jump-Time’ and only they shall cross who have the faith and the courage to look and leap into the Future.
