The march of mankind is carrying us along at a dizzying speed that is often disorienting. The common man finds himself caught up amidst fast-changing scenes that are frightening since he clings to the past forms of life and to past ways of being. Even when there is something rotten in its belly, we still continue to love and savour it like the little worm loves its small hole below the mud, digging itself in the comfort of sunless worlds. But Light comes and the day grows over our heads and we are forced out of our comfort-zones to join the journey of the stars and the labour of the gods of life.
The comfort-zones are not only individual but also social and institutional. Even science and arts and music and commerce each has its own comfort-zone and is wary of entering into new domains that at once attract and repel. They attract because of the hidden possibility in them. They repel us because of the fear of losing an established way of thought which provides us a foothold upon life.
But whether we like it or not, all footholds are temporary resting places for the great discoverer, Life. They cannot be permanent dwelling abodes for the mighty spirit of man who is bound to break into new and fresh grounds of existence and discover new and greater vistas of knowledge and power. Emerging out of his knowledge of material processes and the power it brings, he is bound to explore new domains of life and the hidden forces of life. Emerging from the forces of life and their powers, he is bound to go further and discover the utmost possibilities of mind and thought. Emerging out of the conundrums of thoughts and the web of metaphysics, man is bound to scale deeper heights and stand before the hidden glories of the secret Spirit within.
Towards this, we are moving at an accelerated pace. The march of civilisation is bound to take us there, where the living Fire that built the worlds burns in the very Home of Truth.
