Being human is a precarious state of being. Man has left the security of the cave and the surety of his natural instinct. A nomad of varying climes, he is ever in search of a light he has lost. An adventurer of unseen lands, he fronts viewless dangers of the Unknown. He has added new complexities and with it new challenges and difficulties.

Being human is to be at once vulnerable and to be strong. Man is vulnerable because of the giant ignorance that surrounds him. Man is strong, because faced with his vulnerability, he grows mightier in his spirit. He compensates for his body and mind’s precarious state with the growing strength and stillness of his soul.

But not for long this ‘strange, uneasy compromise of a limiting nature with a limitless soul’.

The day draws near when he will be strong in his body and mind, even as he is now strong in his spirit. The old adage of a strong mind in a weak body or ‘the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak’, need to be replaced. The new formula is ‘a strong mind in a strong body’ and ‘the spirit is willing and the flesh is ready to obey.’
