Research in Āyurveda
By Asit Kumar Panja - Jul 15, 2014
Nobody except one with a completely closed mind can deny that there is a wealth of knowledge available in ancient sciences like the Āyurveda. Contrary to our conventional way of looking at the advances of civilisation, it is quite possible that what we are witnessing today is a recovery after a fall from an advanced state of achievement in various forms of sciences and arts. Nevertheless these sciences have to be not only recovered but rediscovered using the methods of modern science since each age has its own dharma. This article throws light on some such aspects of research in Āyurvedic sciences.

On Multi-tasking, avadhāna-kalā and multiple saṁyama
By Sandeep Joshi - Jul 15, 2012
Man is a bundle of habits on one side and, on the other, a reservoir of unrealised possibilities. While much present- day science deals with man as he presently is, yogic science deals with man as he can become. Thus yogic science, in a way, is the science of man’s latent evolutionary possibilities that await discovery through systematic effort. The capacity of multiple concentration is one among many other possibilities that open their doors to seekers on the path of yoga. How does modern science view this? This is the subject of the article.

Mental awareness in comatose patients and sleeping newborn infants

The phenomenon of unconsciousness is a mystery. A greater mystery is consciousness itself. Scientists and mystics have been exploring the secrets of consciousness for centuries but it is only relatively recently that there has been a more general upsurge of interest in it. Among the many explorers of this undefined and uncharted field, we are fortunate to have had amongst us Sri Aurobindo, the mystic par excellence, who explored this little-known territory in all its profundity, height and depth. Besides sounding its abysses, he also described its various shades and ranges, its levels and appropriate functioning and their interconnectedness and influence upon earth and humanity. There is now a real wealth of spiritual science left at our doorstep. This article explores just a few of the facets in the consciousness/unconsciousness dimension, drawing its insight from Sri Aurobindo and the Mother with appropriate parallels from the world of documented data.

Collective bio-energetic detoxification
By Joachim P. Seckel - Jul 15, 2016
This exploratory study of air-pollution focused on petroleum and auto gasoline exhaust. After exposing a water-filled jar to open air for two days, both chemicals were detected, using muscle-testing of the jar together with two electronically sensitized vials. Both chemicals were next induced into a nearby centre for which an Integral Bio-Energetic Field had earlier been created. Then, a second water-filled jar was exposed to open air for two days. Subsequently, both chemicals could no longer be detected.
