The new year is a symbol that life and death, destruction and new creation go hand in hand, complementing each other. At a casual surface glance, death seems to pass the final sentence on all efforts of life to blossom and bloom. The shedding of leaves in Autumn appears to remind us of the transience of every Spring, however beautiful and rich it may have been. To these, the fast-track life has only helped to increase the spiritual urge as a means to get out of the confusion that surrounds our mental world.

Sometimes we go through jump-time when earth goes through a leap. Outwardly this period of time presents itself as a series of challenges through which we must navigate. Inwardly however it is a cry for change, a change not only in our outer behaviour but also in our thoughts and feelings, in our hopes and aspirations, in the very aims and goals that we set for ourselves.
