There is often an idea that spiritual life is antagonised to the worldly material life of man. This divide is at times seen merely as an extension of the opposition or so it seems between idealism and practicality. However this is only one side of the story. The other side is that, far from opposing each other the spiritual and the material are two aspects of one Existence and can fulfil rather than cancel each other This article tries to build the bridges between the two.

It looks at the dark forces, the Asuras that manifested as a result of the conversion of the four Powers manifested by the Divine Mother, Aditi in the process of the creation of the Universe. Any attempt to move towards human well-being will be grossly inadequate if we do not address the issue of negative emotions. Yogic science describes six such emotions as the principal enemies and they are known as the Ariṣaḍvargas. One can ask, if they are so detrimental, why should Nature create them and preserve them? There was an evolutionary necessity. They provided a help for survival, but are an obstacle to the growth into the higher consciousness. Music Therapy-induced speech and communication in older adults

This research article investigates the effects of vocal exercises and singing on intelligibility and speech naturalness for subjects with acquired dysarthria due to Parkinson’s, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and neuro-degenerative diseases. A multiple case-study design was used, involving pre, mid, and post-treatment assessments of intelligibility, rate, and naturalness, on four subjects with dysarthria. Each subject participated in 60 weekly group music therapy sessions, involving Rhythmic Speech Cueing, and therapeutic singing techniques of neurological music therapy in combination with the traditional music of India which is based on Indian classical raagas.
